چکیده

Abstract This paper details the investigation of a discrete coating observed on group Egyptian panel paintings, six mummy portraits and one funerary panel, dating from first-third century CE. Examination ultraviolet radiation revealed irregular visible fluorescence surface. On portraits, often extends only as far where linen wrappings would have secured portrait to its mummy. Under magnification, appears crizzled encrustation. Material exhibiting characteristics was sampled all seven Initial analysis samples four panels by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) presence egg. Subsequent peptide fingerprinting (PMF) liquid with tandem (LCMSMS) confirmed egg further characterized highly deamidated, whole hen egg, white instance. Importantly, 14 C date two indicates time application approximately 2000 years ago, implying that coating, at least those cases, not modern addition. report summarizes examination analytical characterization unusual coating. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY HYBRID NANOCOMPOSITE COATING

In this research, a kind of environmentally-friendly inorganic-organic hybrid nanocomposite coating based on silica containing titania/silica core/shell nanoparticles was synthesized and characterized for conservation of facade tiles in historical buildings. The matrix of the composite was prepared by sol-gel process via two methods of ultrasonic and reflux stirring. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (T...
